Yardi Bluepoint has launched its latest freestanding visitor check-in kiosk to provide a contact-free check-in experience. Designed inhouse by the Bluepoint team and built in the UK, the Freestanding Kiosk v2 is the latest addition to the Yardi Bluepoint visitor management offering.

Yardi, Senior Account Executive, Alexis Vergez, says:

“Freestanding Kiosks are a great way to provide additional flexibility to Bluepoint, allowing visitors to self-check-in for their visit or used to complement and support existing reception services.

As people head back to work, buildings and workplaces are assessing the requirements for safety and security the kiosk provides building management with another way of meeting these requirements.”

How it works

Placed at entry points or by a reception, the kiosk provides a contact-free check-in experience allowing visitors to scan the unique Bluepoint QR code from their mobile. Checking them in, notifying the host of their arrival and printing a pass for smart access to the building if required.

Preconfigured for the building or workplace and with only one power and data connection required, the kiosk is quick to install and is up and running from day one.

The first iteration of the freestanding kiosk has been used at the University of Derby for over a year, allowing the team at Bluepoint to see how customers interacted and what the team required to manage it. The new design reflects this understanding.

Key Features

  • Ability to fully brand the housing and interface to maximise your brand and match the reception environment
  • Customise the visitor journey workflow, i.e. NDA sign off, health and safety information to meet health and safety
  • Powered by a Microsoft Surface Pro, its highly reliable, and the kiosk application runs via the Microsoft Store platform
  • The built-in scanner uses the latest LED reading technology, giving a reliable, quick read of QR codes every time, from mobile or paper
  • Thermal printing technology from Star Micronics uses environmentally friendly paper, which doesn’t require ink, making it low cost and easy to maintain.

Bluepoint also provides a desk kiosk option, which works well for smaller reception areas or as an additional check-in point on the reception desk for busy times, regular visitors, temporary staff or contractors.
